Statoil ASA said it has proven the presence of oil and gas at the Biotitt prospect in Norway's Sleipner field, and that a survey will now be carried out to determine the resource potential of the find. The Biotitt prospect lies approximately 20 km north-east of the Sleipner field, off the western coast of Norway. As operator, Statoil has a 70 pct stake in the exploration licence, while ExxonMobil has the remaining 30 pct.
